That's awesome, that's gotta be hard though. Trying to shoot a puck underwater.

I used to play what we called "Underwater Hockey" back in the 70"s at U of M. It was different then, more like underwater football, with a large brick of heavy rubber, but lots of fun and a great workout.

I played back in the 70's as well. We used a rubber coated brass puck with Y shaped sticks which were about a foot long. Great workout and could get a little rough.

Perhaps the biggest difference, though, is that underwater hockey doesn't get a lot of spectators.

"You have to be in the pool to see actually what's going on," said Ottawa player Laia Navarro, a Barcelona native who's doing post-doctoral work at the University of Ottawa. "So we don't have many fans and followers."

"Damn! I missed that goal... had to go up for air"

    Sounds cool though.

They need to hand out free snorkels to the first 100 fans.

You have no idea how true that is.

The chance that it will grow up in real kind of hockey are minimal, as to speak about fun - that's funny)

Interesting. Not sure who would sponsor a world championship of a sport where you can't have spectators except on T.V.? Maybe they can have games at aquariums that have underwater viewing?
