Perhaps, but I'm enjoying seeing their body count going up rather than for some innocent people.

It is, and a lot of Taliban have started to defect to the other side. But with no support or salaries for months on end. They are starting to regret their decisions.

A good documentry by ITV 4 dispatches on such surgical strikes

DD is a good guy, if we get enough good guys together we can diffuse some of the "hot button" issues.

So we should pay them to stop killing our boys? Very Romanesque.

The Russian generals who fought in A-Stan were telling our generals that you don't need to really fight them, they are quite corruptible and money goes a long way.

The folks who want to change sides, yes pay them off.

When you've been to a few funerals of their victims you perspective changes.

I've been to plenty of funerals old chap. If your battle plan is to buy off the bad guys, well we should have bought them off in 2002. A lot of lives would have been saved.

While this is good news, the real problem is you can't kill an ideal, even one as sick as these fucks subscibe to.

So, we'll likely have to kill alot more of these reprobates before the survivors even consider changing the way they think about us and our way of life.

Well the thing is, the Taliban didn't a rats ass about anyone other than themselves. Thay had no invasion plans or anything of the sort. That was OBL's job.

But now the hornets nest has been poked and now atleast 10 times more A'stanis are turning anti US because of ISAF actions than those been killed or captured. And from personel experience the pashtoon are not the kind of people who let go of a grude too easy, nor do they forget.

When you have marines breakdown your doors, disrespect you and your family, haul you away tied up in front of the whole village then keep you locked up for a few days and then let you go. You can bet that person, his family and most probably the entire village are not going to be singing praises. Because these kind of things matter to these people more than life.

It still is a battle of hearts and mind over anything else and that war is being lost....quite badly.
