Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz says his city has silenced any doubts that it wouldn't be able to support an NHL franchise, after a season ticket drive sold out in only 17 minutes.

    Winnipeg hockey fans rock big time........way to go people. I wasn't surprised at all to hear that you sold out in 2mins!!!!!! Now that is truly putting your money where your 'heart' is! Congratulations!

    Wait until next year, when the buzz has worn off, and everyone realizes we have another crappy hockey team that never wins anything.

    And I use the term "we" loosely. The folks who say "we" lost, from their couches about players they've never met probably won't camp out for season tickets.

    On the bright side, the Conservatives can't promise to bring The Jets back again this election.

    This just in-most tickets sold in groups of three because that's how many fit in the front seat of a half ton.

    This isn't Alberta. They were sold in 4's because that's what fits in a Honda Civic.
