If you’re planning a weekend away from home this summer, remember: sometimes, it’s not about where you’re going, it’s about how you get there. Map a route that explores the nooks and crannies of beautiful B.C and hit the open road.
I've done a lot of roadtrips around BC, my family went on one almost every year while I was growing up and I've done several on my own the past years. Go on some winter drives too, not for scenary though, just for the destination usualy at night. Drove overnight from Vancouver to Revelstoke.
Also been going on mountain bike roadtrips the last 2 years to the oakanagon. Hopefully this summer will do one in the Kootenays.
For me, #3 to 97 up and around to Merritt is a great drive.
And the Island never dissapoints.

Here are some pics from a roadtrip loop we did in 2008 through kamloops, Jasper, icefields parkway and the Kootenays.

But gas is so fucking expensive, gas at $1.50 makes roadtrips a bit more expensive.
