Aw, crap. Mrs. Bart is going to be in tears when I get home. She met Randy Savage when he was in Sacramento in 1986 at the Memorial Auditorium and he was outstandingly polite and courteous to her autistic brother who loves wrestling. A proper and classic gentleman was he.
Allot of those old time wrestlers were really good guys with big hearts, my inlaws have Heart connections here in Calgary via marriage and have had the pleasure of meeting/knowing a bunch of them and other wrestlers, there will be some grief here.
RIP, Bonesaw McGraw. Macho was truly one of the great wrasslin' characters and performers of all time. That match he had versus Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania III is still near the top of the list of the best performances ever.
I'm an "older" guy, so my wrestlers were Yvon Robert, Maurice (Mad Dog) Vachon, Rick Martel, Dino Bravo, Jos Leduc, Gino Brito and the Rougeau family... and they were only the Québec wrestlers. Add to that list Édouard Carpentier, Andre the Giant, Abdullah the Butcher and Killer Kowalski.
I pretty much stopped watching when it became more of a "show" then wrestling, but Macho Man was one of the good ones.
Pretty sad to hear this. I crushed my brothers head several times with a flying elbows off the coffee table back in the day thanks to Macho Man. The garbage they put on tv today does not compare with one of the best of all time.
I like to not see his death as a time for sadness, but a time for celebration for the things he has given to us, including his very last gift.
The end of the world didn't happen because Macho Man Randy Savage sacrificed himself so he could transport himself to Heaven and thwart Jesus & God with an elbow drop from the top turn buckle and saved all humanity from the Rapture.
So thank you Macho Man, Rest in Peace and have a Slim Jim for all your hard work.
