I dunno... I have a hard time with this. Either he abused his power, thinking he is above any law, or he was set up and her alligations are bullshit. Either way, he is done.

(And somehow, I don't think he would be that stupid...)

Of course not. Being a dirty old man isn't illegal, but acting out on those dirty thoughts is. You would need evidence to convict, but no one should be surprised when sexual harassment charges are brought against dirty old men.

I have no idea if the her story is legit or not, if it is I hope he gets max punishment.

But, I do have some questions:

1) She told hotel staff (who called the police) 'moments' after it happened. Police arrived 'moments' later. To which the Dominque was already gone (apparently in a rush). They did not apprehend him until 'moments' before the plane to Paris took off.

Why and how did he get thorugh airport security unmolested when even people with Diplomatic Immunity (if he had any) must present identification?

The drive to airport would have taken time. More than enough time to issue an arrest warrant for him. That arrest warrant should have popped up when they ran his id.

The article states that the Police contacted the Port Authority as soon as they figured him to be at the airport. This leads to question number 2:

Maybe it is just me, but something in this timeline does not add up. Sofit Hotel to JFK is 28 minute drive (no stops), averages 1hr 10 minutes in traffic...thank you google maps...

Americans are hypersensitive about being touched and, consequently, get all huffy around foreigners who don't freak out because someone hugged them, patted them on the shoulder, or kissed them on the cheek.

There's no end of Americans who are dealing with psychological issues from being touch-deprived and whose course of treatment, IMHO, should include a trip to Spain or Italy.

Seriously, at my office last year in August a man was nearly fired for simply patting someone on the shoulder. The person made a complaint and called it an 'unwanted sexual advance' and the whole weight of HR went after the poor guy.

Yep, those Germans, a real touchy feely bunch. I think Brenda's point was there there have been numerous sexual assault allegations against him, but none have been prosecuted, so who knows. She's saying cut this IMF guy the same slack.
