NEW YORK — New York Rangers forward Derek Boogaard was found dead in his Minneapolis apartment Friday.

What a shock. I'm curious as to what happened to him. Sounds like he was a really wonderful person. (Even though he did play for the Rangers).

I saw him play in Minesota..........HUGE! Never heard of him before that but never forgot him. Very tragic for his friends and family.

How terrible. According to the reports I've read, it looks like it's going to take at least a few weeks for any word on what happened. I wonder if it had anything to do with his injuries during the year. It seems very sudden and unexpected, especially with him being so young.

My condolences to his family, friends, and fans...hopefully they can get some closure on this.

Looks like a substance abuse problem, which most likely means and OD or a heart attack. Clearly another victim of society and it's annoying laws.

Drugs?....28 and with previous history...Regardless, it is too young to die, but I believe all are too young to die even if caused by addiction.
