And? The company responsible is paying for cleanup, so why do we care?

    Good.

I know eh? That horrible black stuff that's used to make computers so people can complain on-line about the evils of oil, while using an internet connection provided by telecom companies that wouldn't exist as they do today without oil.
Your TV, game systems, furniture, hygiene products, all of them exist because of oil.
Good luck making those products out of sunshine and wind.

You spill it, you clean it.

No problems here, wouldn't care if it cost $2 billion to clean up.

But maaaaan, we can totally make a bunch of those things with hemp maaaan

Oil is a good resource. I'm not saying it is specifically something we need to phase out. It's in make-up for god sakes.

Could care less about the corporations in charge of it though
I could NOT agree more with the bolded part.

It wasn't a surprise to anyone in the industry that this line broke. Everyone knew that it was in extremely bad shape. What surprises me is that the ERCB didn't shut it down and force line repairs a long time ago.

I'm just waiting for the Cochin pipeline to have a blow out. The only thing holding that thing together is the dirt around it.
