If the signs are to be believed, the end of the world as we know it starts on May 21.

This has been going on for millenia. The original followers of JC thought he would return in their life time to establish the kingdom of heaven on earth. They just didn't get this "the kingdom is within" crap, and would argue about who would get to sit on the right side of Jesus in heaven.

As for these particular numbnuts, they already predicted the end a few years back, but apparently found new evidence in the bible when that didn't come to pass. Guess they'll say the same thing this time.

What's funny is, these people are more into numerology than anything else.
There are several numbers from the Bible that constantly get mathematically abused to show the "true" date. I've heard/read claims of anywhere from sometime in 2025, to sometime between 2050-2060.
Fortunately, AFAIK nobody's been able to torture the numbers enough to "prove" Dec.23, 2012 is the true date, sooooo we got that going for us

Like I said before, I'm hoping the rapture comes on the 21st so I can score a decent walkup tee-time at the golf course on the 22nd.

We already did this topic in news item.. And in the disappearing atheist bus ads story. There's a few of these signs scattered across Winnipeg. I thought we determined that it was only the start of the end of the world. We still have to go to work Tuesday, damnit. It's just the plagues and the locusts for the first bit I think.

What a load of old bollocks. Mmm, what's that meteor like spec NASA are tracking? Nah, just another meteor shower.

How many of these have we seen. It's like the polling companies telling us there was gonna be an NDP majority. Remember that?

If the NDP had got a majority then you could rule out Jesus' visiting Canada on His 2011 World Tour.

An NDP majority would be a sign of the apocalypse.
