U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder called Friday for American government investigators and regulators to be on alert for instances of fraud and manipulation that keep retail gasoline prices artificially high.
Well, while they're at it, could they investigate the artificially high gas price in Canada? No one in our government seems to care the population is getting screwed.

Not enough outrage. The guys I see driving to work everyday in their F250s and GMC Sierras are pretty quiet.
I get pretty pissy about gas prices, then I see the retards bitching about how much their spending in their hour of commuting everyday in a 1/2 ton truck and I think, shut the fuck up.
But hurray for high gas prices. Keep cars off the streets, it's all good. Lots of money in govt coffers means lower taxes in other areas, and lots of money to spend on transit and other energy savings. It's all good.

How many vehicles do you think they can afford? I drive a truck because I need it around my place, naturally the gas is costing me a lot of money but do you think I can afford to just go and buy another smaller vehicle?

The problem Andy is that everything we purchase is brought to us on trucks burning fuel and we pay higher prices because of it. We're still getting screwed.

Yes. The amount they spend on gas and insurence can buy a cheap communter?
Fuck sakes, most of the people I work with can't even do the 20 min walk from where they live to get to work. They have to drive.

I know. We have to learn how to deal with it. With all the new consumers coming on stream in Asia, there is no way for oil prices to go but up. So either we find other energy sources, or we'll be forced to conserve because of high prices. Likely both. Better to try to deal than just wine about it and talk about the government subsidizing gas prices. Funny how that's often that same people who don't want the govt to do anything for poor people.

This like the US government spending millions of dollars on a study of why men don't like condoms.
