NIAGARA FALLS—Stephen Harper's Conservatives must win 23 more seats in Ontario to achieve their coveted majority, a task that senior party insiders now admit is almost impossible, the Star has learned.
"PENATRATOR" said Yeah, me too, I am hoping for ANOTHER election next year, that would be awesome
Even better if we have new leadership all around. I know you wrote it sarcastically, but our current crop of leaders have been terrible. Let's get rid of them all and get some new blood in.
Right now it's a joke as to who can lead our country.

Its not the leaders, its us. There is nobody ever that will satisfy anybody currently bemoaning the current candidates save for a candidate with almost identical beliefs.
Nobody. Look around the world and see just how bad the political situation is. Canadians crying about our political leaders is quite frankly akin to the viral video of the spoiled princess throwing a hissy fit because her sweet 16 sports car gift was the wrong colour.
Like Pen said, now we can have another election in 2012, then in 2013 and so on ad nauseam.
Perhaps we'll vote in Jack Layton as PM and we'll all live happily ever after. Not this year, and if Jack has to step down in the near future because of his health, it will be an NDP freefall... let's face it, a lot of people that will be voting NDP this year will be in reality voting for Layton, not the party.
It will be interesting to see what would happen IF the NDP and Liberals together get enough seats that they "could" form a majority coalition government (without the Bloc). Then we'd see all 3 of the leaders whoring it up trying to get into a coalition. But with the Liberals free-falling, that's a big IF.
If not, it's status quo... as usual it seems in Canadian government.
Surprise, surprise, we will end up with all most the same results as the last election with the only difference being some seats being swapped back and forth between the opposition parties.
It will be interesting to see if the amount of support the Dippers have gained will translate into actually seats. You can have a fair amount of support but still not win a riding such as in the case with the Greens and NDP. *(Cue the proportional representation crowd).
I’m kind of surprised that the Liberals have done so badly so far. They really haven’t run a bad campaign as compared to the abysmal performance of the Conservatives this time around.
Now all we have to do is sit back, finish up the election and wait for either the throne speech or the budget to be defeated. Then the real fun will begin.

I understand what you're trying to say, but I disagree. While there will never be one leader that can truly unite every single Canadian behind him or her, we haven't had anyone in a long time that we could look up to and even remotely get behind.
There are those "leaders" that are supported solely on the basis of their party. There are those "leaders" that we support because they are not the "other guy". What we don't have is someone who we can support because they have a true vision of our country.
We have been trained to expect so little from our leaders because we have seen the same old types over and over again. Our fault lies in the fact that we have given up and accepted this instead of demanding better.

Nope. We'll have another election when Stevo doesn't play ball, then a stable NDP led minority govt that the Libs won't want to bring down too soon as the try to figure out what happened and how to rebuild. Same with the Reformacons, bereft of their leader.
Yeah, me too, I am hoping for ANOTHER election next year, that would be awesome
The Conservatives need to learn more about the C word....
Not conserving (or conniving)...but .
