He will be reelected, that's for sure. But will he stay as the chief after another minority government ? That's another thing.

Personality isn't everything. It’s very nice to have in a top level leader. Hillier had and has it. He's a rare breed, a true leader who can bond with the masses, plus he can deliver the goods. He's not all rhetoric.

I think Jack is all rhetoric, but he does present very well. The fact that he professes to be a man of the people doesn't reflect in the millions he and chow get at the public trough. His subsidised housing in Toronto, despite him having hundreds of thousands in investments and savings etc.

He’s a champagne socialist and the Left in Canada are looking for a hero and willing to overlook that. I don’t think Jack is the messiah they are looking for but I’m all for splitting the Left wing vote.

Why do I get the feeling we'll have "Rae Days" on the federal level if Layton gets into power? (By some odd fluke.) I let the NPD's record of operating at the provincial level do the speaking and I find it less than encouraging.

Someone can have all the personality in the world and still be a complete idiot. Layton seems to fit the bill quite well.
