Shaw, one of Canada's largest Internet providers, appeared to be planning a move toward metered pricing model for web access. CEO Bradley Shaw said he supports the principle that "if you use more, you should pay more."
So then, when Shaw as a whole uses more; why doesn't it have to pay more? And since we would then be paying for usage, would throttling be lifted so the internet would once again work as intended?
I will drop them like a hat when they do, citing UBB as the reason. I don't pay more at a buffet because I eat more than others, I don't pay more for a library card because I read more, I don't pay more for my land line if I talk more than my neighbours.
This is why I will never leave Sasktel, UBB is a bunch of crap from greedy companies that love to use branch line systems so when you pay for 10mbps you may only get 1mbps if your neighbours are using the net too. I'm actually amazed no more crown corps have sprung up over this.

The Conservatives sold our MTS. Thanks again for that.
"DrCaleb" said I don't pay more for my Cable TV if I watch too many shows, and I don't get those programs any slower than anybody else if I do.
But you can turn that argument around and say... why shouldn't I pay less than you because I use my phone less, I only watch 10 hours a week of shows compared to your 40 hours, I download half of what you download, I only have a carry-on when I take the plane compared to your carry-on and 3 bags.
Fuck, why shouldn't I pay less taxes because I use less government services than you?
"Brenda" said It's kinda weird. You pay what you use for electricity, gas, phone usage, garbage (we pay by the bag) but not water, sewer, internet, cable...
If it didn't cost the electric company any more, no matter how much you used then you'd be outraged about it.

Shaw has already decided. From what I've heard, once the election is done they will resort to UBB.
And if I could, I would drop them like a hat if they did.

Exactly.
