Europe is ready to send an armed force to Libya to ensure delivery of humanitarian aid, and Britain said Tuesday it will dispatch senior military officers to advise the opposition — signs that Western nations are inching closer to having troops on Libyan

    At this point, why pussyfoot around. NATO should just send in ground troops, forcibly evict Gadhafi from Libya, and leave the second he's dead or gone and leave it to the rebels.

    The only problem with that is that in Libya you have a number of tribes who can barely agree on the time of day let alone setting up a constitutional government for a society that has no experience on how to make a democracy work.

    If NATO goes in and kills "The Colonel" and immediately leaves what is going to fill the power vacuum? I would hate to see 6 months after NATO leaves another similar thug take his place.

    That's what I thought we were going to do in Astan. (Get Bin Laden and go home). We're still there. For fucking once, if things don't go the way you thought initially, can't we just walk away instead of getting sucked deeper and deeper in the mire. Or at least wait until every last one of our troops are back from Astan and have had a bit of a rest before we ask them to go on another fuckwit adventure?
