Colonel sees 'positive momentum' in Afghan operations

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — The acting commander of Canadian troops in southern Afghanistan is decidedly upbeat as the clock ticks down on Canada's five-year military effort in the region.

"Positive momentum right now in our area." Trees over forest? I guess in his position you have to focus on the job at hand and whether you're making progress, but to apply this to Astan as a whole and that the military will be the solution to the problem as a whole seems a tad narrow minded.
