We love to hate Albertans, don't we?

"What colour is your licence plate?" Confused, the homeowners responded, "blue and white." At which point, the tradesperson laughed: "Good. Because if it was red and white you'd be on your own."

And come summer, we'll shake our fists as they drive ahead of us on the highway, speeding up with every straight stretch and hammering on the brakes at every turn.

Well, he's not wrong. But to say Albertans are worse drivers, with all the Chinese we have in Vancouver seems a bit over the top.

Better drivers than Albertans! That's a laugh!

Every time I'm in the province, it seems like the speed limit signs were posted as an advisory, not the law. It's a rare day when you see a BC resident actually doing the speed limit - most times they are doing at least 20 - 30 kmh over it.

Calgary drivers may be aggressive, but Vancouver drivers are aggressive and selfish. I've never seen one acknowledge when I let them cut in front of me.

We drive that fast because we're such good drivers, we can handle the speed. If it weren't for the Chinese to gum things up, traffic would flow much better. Until you have to slam on your brakes because and Alberta driver has stopped to ponder what that strange thang is up ahead. "Oh, I know what that is, it's a curve, I've heard about them thangs. Guess I'll have to white knuckle her around that thang."

(Note - this is meant to be funny. At one time I used to really notice how Albertans couldn't handle curves, but I guess since I don't drive that much any more I haven't really seen it, or noticed as many Alberta plates as used to be.)

The only real reason people in BC (especially the valleys) hate ALbertans is because they flock to BC every summer.
Truthfully I'm quite tired of hearing about how one province hates the other and vise versa.
I've lived in 4 provinces and can't say I like one more than the other, I stayed in Alberta due to circumstance not preference

    You guys are funny.

Having driven in all parts of Canada, I can safely say the WORST drivers in Canada
    are in Vancouver.

Alberta drivers are good in a straight line, true.

Considering all the BS with bad roads, bad cars, and lousy cops, the best
    drivers in Quebec.. 8O 8O

Feel free to let Alberta join the USA. That'll fix that nasty emissions problem for Canada.

Well we don't have troops keeping them here at gunpoint. If they're really nuts enough to want to do that, I would have to say good riddance. Then BC can become it's own country, maybe join up with Washington and Oregon. Pacifica - I like the sound of that.

Ya it really sucks here in Alberta. More employment, hirer rate of pay, very nice polite people. Oh and the best part is in summer we can take all the money we've made and go vacation in BC where local residents can serve us.

By the way, how is it going with eliminating the number "4" from all the housing in Vancouver so you can attract more Chinese buyers.

Notice how nobody in BC talks about going to Alta for vacation? There's a reason for that. And even those canny Chinese seem to want to buy in BC, not Alberta, even tho they are focused so much on the bottom line. Guess there's a reason for that too, not that I approve of it.

If Alberta joined the USA then I'd expect BC would not be far behind. As for Washington and Oregon leaving the USA, that's unlikely as neither state has any seriously divisive issues with the rest of the country.
