Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff is accusing Conservative Leader Stephen Harper of performing more rigorous background checks on people showing up at his campaign events than advisers he hires in the Prime Minister's Office.

    :?:

No one was arrested, but a couple of women at a CPC event were chucked out because of a picture one of them had of herself posing with Iggy at a Liberal event.

This should be put into the 'Not an Issue' filing cabinet. If this is all the Grits can come up with, then they are screwed. Morons.

It's what the media can come up with, I think they need a gaff to parade around.

I read this on the CKA main page link:

First, limiting questions from reporters and even having them arrested for asking a question... and now this! Why is anyone voting Conservative?

How do you figure it's not an issue? Eject a voter from a public political event simply because there was a facebook photo of the same voter posing with Iggy at another political event?

Eject a potential voter from a public CPC event...

Do a background check on a potential voter at a public CPC event...

And you see no issue with this?

Apparently the Liberals aren't the only morons out there...

Ahhhh.... that's the moronic rantings of the poster of the link. Gotcha.

The media didn't come up with this... the thug of a Tory staffer did. The girls went to the media to give them some juicy and very interesting info on what idiots in the CPC are doing to potential voters. Harper's advisers should be hauling this idiot out by the ear and tossing him on the street for the votes this may pull back from the party by people already a bit disgruntled with Harper's heavy handed control of media events and questions.

I didn't know we were allowed to add our own commentary to the news story summary. Well done Roman/Iceowl.

    To be fair,

They would of spilled everything they had on Harper by now if they had anything, they've played their hand all they have is:

She is a female from a minority group, who has a picture of her with Ignatief, who was screened out from an event where Harper was speaking.

That's all that's known at this point.

Good chance there's more to the story.

May go either way, maybe she was packing a cream pie ?

I am a friend of Awish's brother. I assure you, there is no more to this story. There is no political strategy. Simply discouraging non-partisan political activism. And knowing how well-respected her brother is, I am sickened by this story.

Oh wait, speak of the devil, Harper 'tough on human smuggling' commercial. Tiny bit of irony?

This may be the perfect example of "An Issue". I cannot claim to be a supporter of any single party, but this is a serious infringement of the one true say we have in a democratic system.

This should go beyond which party you support. This is disturbing as a Canadian.

They were screening for hecklers. Really it was a dumb ass thing to do but I think more is being made of this than should be. Harper has agreed to meet with her one on one. I just hope he doesn’t limit her to four questions. XD
