AUSTIN -- The Texas Nationalist Movement will host a rally at the state capitol Saturday urging lawmakers to put the matter of Texas independence before the state's voters in a non-binding plebiscite.

Wasn't this issue settled in 1865?

This is just a demonstration that people are not happy with Washington. It doesn't mean that Texas wants to secede.

They could have a 'non-binding' vote approving Texas' membership in the Federation of Planets and it would be as valid.

Back then they voted on actual secession, not meaningless posturing.

So what you're saying is that, back then, they had real balls unlike the pussies of today? :D
