Vancouverite Alanna Fero went to Egypt for two weeks with her iPhone. Prior to leaving, Fero says she spoke with Telus to ensure she was on the right plan. When she got home, she was shocked to receive a monthly bill of $37,694.53.
"Brenda" said Cell phones and it's use in ANY country is cheaper than in Canada. Buy a pay as you go.
I totally agree..too many people just HAVE to have the latest fancy dancy phone so they sign a contract without reading it and then bitch when they incur charges that are legit.
I want a phone that is a phone and I use pay as you go..plain and simple. Maybe I'm just not important enought to need all the bs that comes with these smart phones...
Hey I get this every freaking day or so: Signed a 1 year agreement in which they pay a year and get $7 a month less on the rate. Then they come in a month after getting a 60 day notice, tell you they're cancelling as of the month before and were on holidays the month before that so here's a cheque for 2/12'so of the bill and that's ALL I'm paying !!! (arms crossed over their chest as they speak) Then they get all fired up when I tell them they'll pay the regular rate for the two months, plus for the month they were on holidays, plus for the current month as it's the 15th before they gave notice. Every single one believes that Telus, Rogers and Bell let you out of a contract free and you don't need to pay if you're not home.
Fuck Telus. I asked for a data plan for Mexico and they said there was no such thing. A day after getting to Mexico, I start getting the emails saying I should buy an international plan. I'm months away from saying, adios...
I made a couple of fast phone calls back in December,
paid thru the nose for them too.
What's better to sell $5 a Gig overages than saying "It used to be $23,000 a Gig, $5.00 is a deal!"
