Vale, a Brazilian company, bought out Inco in 2006. In the fall, Vale received a $1-billion loan from the federal government, the release said. Despite promises to increase employment, Vale announced the closure of the smelter and refinery
He describes Prime Minister Stephen Harper as “George W. Bush with a Canadian accent,” and suggests the Conservatives have enabled Vale to move jobs out of the country.
What about the carbon footprint he leaves. All those cows that he consumes need to be cared for, plus they produce a shit load of methane. Moore and Gore rhyme with politician.

I criticize the US and US companies all the time, and I'm not a citizen. I'm not the only one on this forum either. OTOH, Bart certainly has a lot to say about Canada, as do the other American posters here.
I agree. And generally when Bart and many other Americans say things about Canada and Canadian Policies, they say it with Canada's best interest in mind.
As much as I would like to see Michael Moore choke to death on a chicken bone, I have to say he is right on this one. Its total B.S for Vale to take a huge loan from the Feds six weeks before announcing that they are shutting down operations. If Vale does'nt want to run the operation, than sell it to another company who does. We are in a natural resource super cycle. There has to be other takers. Multi-nationals buying up operations just to shut them down spurs the call for countries to nationalize their industries. I am a die hard right wing capitalist. I want to see capitalism create jobs and expand operations, not buy up the competion [on the taxpayers dime] just to idle operations. B.S. like this only gives the left more ammo IMHO.

What is the carbon footprint of hydro-electric power?
The operation relies primarily on hydro-electricity for its energy, and is therefore an extremely low producer of greenhouse gases, which helps keep its environmental footprint small. Two mines which were recently decommissioned, Soab North and Soab South, earned the praise of the provincial government’s conservation department for the steps taken to leave the sites as though no industry has occupied them.
This is the same crap that Kelsey-Hayes pulled in Windsor. The feds and province gave them mucho dinero to retool their Windsor factory to aluminum wheels and continue providing jobs. Mere weeks after receiving all that cash, K-H announced they were moving the plant to the US. There needs to be legislation to prevent private companies from absconding with public funds like that.

Michael Moore gives boost to NDP campaign
Why do you hate Canada ?
Moore is a lackey of the Democrats and NDP. He's always looking for some type of left side propaganda to push...
But Mikey, think of the carbon foot print we are saving by closing down that refinery....
I doubt if Michael Moore has anything positive to say about anything.
Perhaps he could be Sara Palin's running mate, what a horror that would be.
