I'm getting so sick and tired of the government telling people what they can and cannot do...salvia? Really? Now they're banning an herb!! f..k me!

I understand having laws, there needs to be a justice system, but if I like to smoke something that's green in colour it DOESN'T make me a criminal! I don't care what the law says, I am not a criminal. I served my country in the military for 7 years, I am now working for the federal government, I am an upstanding citizen who believes in peace and prosperity for all...How am I a crimnal?

naw man there is nothing good about this shit, i tried it once years ago, all i could say after was NEVER AGAIN. this shit is absolutely nothing like marijuana and has no place being used.

newfie, it's not that it's green, or has been associated with marijuana because you can get it at head shops. this shit is a powerful hallucinogen which when used wrong can be extremely dangerous to the user and the people around them.

i completely agree that this shit should be taken off the shelves.

Bring on the nanny state. Everything not prohibited will be mandatory.

I can understand your view, and you're probably right. If there was an age limit or something placed on it maybe, but as it is I wouldn't recommend kids/teens doing this shit. I tried it once also, years ago, and while my experience wasn't as bad as yours, I have no desire to do it again.
I think it just got to me that the government thinks something else needs to be banned! Does anyone realize alcohol can cause halucinations? Even compared to salvia alcohol is much more dangerous, is it illegal...NO. I've said this before, I've done some incredibly stupid things because of alcohol, things I would never, ever in my whole life do otherwise, yet we're allowed to drink ourselves stupid (or in some cases drink ourselves to death, literally). Yet booze is legal and other things are not.

Hey guess what? The Liberals said I need a license to operate a canoe with an electric motor. So I guess it's not just the Conservative party that's done stupid things. But I'm sure you knew that already.

Here's the problem with salvia; kids use it mostly BECAUSE marijuana is legal. They can get a more powerful kick for about the same price, but it's legal. All this will do is spur kids to huff paint and glue because it's legal.

I wonder how much Miley Cyrus had to do with this? All the moms in an uproar having to explain what Saliva was probably had a great deal with pushing this over the line.

A few years back, they still planted Datura as decorated plants around some cities.

I remember seeing them in planters on road dividers near where I lived. That is, until some kids decided to consume the seeds... A few of them almost died too.

I think they are still "legal", but the cities have removed them. I had some in my garden and removed them too... dangerous stuff.

What are you 2 on, Salvia?

Datura is deadly if too much of it consumed, and it's not hard to consume too much. You wouldn't to smoke enough salvia to kill you. This stuff is not a party drug, it's a really intense hallucinogen that lasts a few minutes once the smoke is inhaled.. I've heard of very few people who had an enjoyable experience from it. \

It's kind of pointless to make salvia illegal. It's used by so few people, it's kind of expensive for how much you get, and the trip is so short and unpleasant you probably won't find yourself wanting to do more anytime soon.

I am not condoning the use of this garbage, but part of the problem as well, the more they make shit like this illegal the more people turn to things like hooting gas/glue (yeah, gotta be much safer than salvia? sure), and other things. I think the best thing this country could do is just fucking legalize pot already. Why in todays society, when most of us know better, is pot still illegal? Yet we have drunks killing people, the stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
