VANCOUVER - That cup of coffee might be good for more than just a quick buzz.

That's all I drink... dark roast.
Also has the advantage of reducing the caffeine content and enhancing flavor. :D

That explains a lot, aside from a severely f*cked up back, I've held onto a full head of hair and still retain my youthful appearance with just a few wrinkles and creases here and there. I've been drinking my own blend of coffee for over 30 years, with a mixture of dark roasted Columbian , dark French roast and on occasion a wee bit of Irish Creme thrown in for a little extra flavour.

Shit... gonna need more RRSP's. :?

Q's favorite blends are dark roast. I don't mind them. We've been experimenting with a few, and the Kicking Horse blends have been the favorite of late. We just picked up some Salt Spring beans, but haven't tried them yet. Both are a bit spendy for my likings, but what the hell. I work my ass off every day. I deserve the odd indulgence.

LOL! When I read the tag line that was my exact same reaction.

I'm not drinking it. I saw many people who often have a good drink of coffe. They start to depend from it, before they drink it in the morning - they look like zombies or junkies.

I bought a bag of the Salt Spring coffee at the Costco in Victoria and got a vicious headache from it. Not sure why but I am sure that I won't be drinking it again.

Really? How bizarre. I'll be the crash test dummy and test it again for ya. If I have any adverse reactions on it, I'll let you know. 8O

I have only dark roast at home. I start with green beans and roast my own with an old popcorn air machine. Less than 10 minutes from green to dark roast with the added benefit of low caffeine levels. I have had people tell me they cannot drink coffee in the afternoon and sleep at night. Yet they have home dark roasted coffee and sleep fine. Green beans will keep for a few years, but roasted coffee is past its prime after 7 days. So for those that are willing to play with the roasting for a smoother cup at its prime you might like to try roasting your own.
