the insurance companies should get in on it by putting in a clause stating if you are the cause of an accident because of cell use your policy is void and you have to pay out of pocket for everything.
I don't think the problem is limited to BC. There's a ban here too but I still see plenty of people yapping away while driving.
The police have better things to do than trying to enforce this... limiting it to a second infraction when they catch you for something else.
In reality, it will probably take even longer than it took to get people to wear their seatbelts... too many "important" or "phone addicted" drivers out there who absolutely have to take or make that call.
