A Canadian has become the first person to graduate from a Liverpool university's master's program on The Beatles.
But Mary-Lu Zahalan-Kennedy says she wasn't a Fab Four fanatic when she started the degree.
You would think for the amount of space this course took you could have had more useful courses being taught. It's just so annoying when you think about all the time and money spend on such a useless pursuit.
The program, "The Beatles, Popular Music and Society," is considered by the university to be the first of its kind.
It involves much more than "just being a Beatles fan and listening to their music all day," Zahalan-Kennedy said.
"It's really about history and genres of music and semiotics, which is the language of music and ... how communities are forged with different identities happening because of the way music is delivered," she said.
Sounds like its Beatles-themed musicology program, rather than a program about the Beatles. Probably just as useful as any other graduate course in musicology.
Well, unless you intend to teach music...I'm sure the recording industry is interested in people like that too. But otherwise, seems there'd be limited demand for that type of expertise.
It would look AWESOME on your resume... University degree in "The Beatles". "so ma'am, what have you done the past few years? I see you attended University to get WHAT degree?? If you spent your time on useless crap like that, what are you going to do in MY time? NEXT!!"
