A dangerous and debilitating cold snap hit Canada on Saturday, sending temperatures plunging from the Prairies to Quebec.

    In Winnipeg, one of the most severely-hit cities in Canada, the mercury dropped to -32 C Saturday. Environment Canada said the windchill was expected to drag Winnipeg's temperature as low as -36 C overnight with frigid temperatures holding through the weekend.


    Saturday was okay.. It was last Tuesday that was no fun at all.

    Today - Clearing early this morning. Wind west 20 km/h. High -16. Wind chill -37 this morning and -28 this afternoon.

    Tonight - A few clouds. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low -26. Wind chill minus 38.

    Monday - Sunny. Wind west 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light in the evening. High -19. Wind chill -38.
