Venezuela’s parliament approved tighter regulation of the Internet on Monday in the latest of a package of laws to entrench President Hugo Chavez’s socialist “revolution” before a new Assembly is sworn-in next month.

So why didn't you just link to the proper full Reuters article?

I'm hoping some of the "uninformed" like yourself, might explore the site as well.

WP, I may not agree with Mr. Canada most days but let me say this and be clear: He's not the newbie on the forum who's making gross assumptions about people he doesn't know.

Yes, Mr. C is a younger person with some novel political passions, but he's proven to us long-timers that he's intelligent and is generally polite and fun to have around.

In some respects, he's got plenty you could learn from.

You might think you're being cute when you say , but some might take that as a threat and have your annoying ass banned.

Be a jackass eslewhere if this is all you've come for. We have enough terrified conspiracy nuts needing hugs and playing the idiot without adding you to the group.

I was worried that he thought CKA was one of those Craiglist sites, and that the offer to spank C was a pick up line.

I don't agree with Mr C on most days either, but he is intelligent and
polite which is what this forum is about. He has the maturity not to
argue from ignorence meaning if he doesn't know something he doesn't pull
it out of thin air and say it is fact.

He is polite and presents a differnt view and has been around here for some time. Learn from him.

Tin pot dictators of aany political stripe need to choke off the flow of information so that they hear only what they want them to hear. There is nothing new about thisit is as old as time. The book burings will begin soon and people who disagree with him will disappear.

Yes, what seems anti-democtratic is troubling to me. But it's a colossal leap to prognosticate that books will be burned and dissenters murdered and Brazil, Columbia and Panama will be invaded. Why don't we wait 'til he does something evil before we declare him so? The people of Venezuela have never been happier.
