Canadians race to consolidate Kandahar gains; scramble to assemble training

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - The Canadian army is racing to exploit gains from a long, hard summer of fighting west of Kandahar just as defence planners scramble to assemble the new Afghan training mission promised by Ottawa.
