Transport Minister, Chuck Strahl promises that Canadians won't be subjected to the same kind of what he calls, "provactive pat-downs". In fact he says, privacy screens will also be set-up to make sure Canadians can choose to be, well, private. But a

"If you're in my business, you live in an airport. So I have people touching my private parts all day long, and all I have to say is ... that's what we have to do to keep us safe," Michael Ignatieff told reporters.

    WTF.

And this is the guy some people want to run our country, good luck with that one folks. It's definately time for the Libs to get a leader................ preferably one who doesn't like having his parts played with in public.

Awwwwww.... come on. I thought it was kind of funny.

If Harper had said it, I would have laughed so hard I'd likely pee a bit!

    Then I'd pos rep him.

The guy at least has a bit of a sense of humour. Pity he didn't refer to it as his junk though.

I'm betting that the 15 year old girl who had her junk, privates, genitals or whatever they want to call it, fondled in Sudbury didn't find it all that funny.

But, then again, I guess not everyone is lucky enough to have Ignatieff's poor sense of timing and sick sense of humour.

Oh you gotta be kidding. That's pure partisan rhetoric and a strawman insertion if I've ever heard it. Nothing to do with a 15 year old girl, or the three year old toddler last week. Guy doesn't care if his junk gets touched during airport pat down. Big deal.

Peter MacKay said this, or Chuck Strahl, then this would be a non-issue.

    Strawman????????????

I like the terminology. It's a good way to void or try and invalidate an opposing point of view or example. I'll have to remember that one whenever I disagree with someones take on a subject.

But as far as my statements being partisan welllllll, like most other posters on this site, I guess i'm guilty of being partisan from time to time and I will admit that it was a bonus, or windfall if you like, to have Iggy say something as stupid as this. 8O

As the matter of fact it was so ridiculous, insensitive and completely tactless that you had to wonder if he could be the next PM talking like this or just some twit hoping to be the next host of Coaches Corner. Either way I knew I couldn't let it pass.

But I suppose, it really wouldn't have mattered who said it because it's one of those statments that just come out so freakin wrong that you have to get on em quick and ride it for all it's worth.

Had McKay or Strahl said the same idiotic thing, I would have chalked it up to the reality that stupidity has no party affiliations and jumped all over them with the same verve that I did with poor old Iggy.
