A study conducted by the Canadian Centre for the Study of Living Standards has concluded what many Canadians have long believed: That Toronto is the most miserable city in the country.

Well if you had David Miller as your mayor for the past 2 terms, you would be miserable too.

Well, the study wasn't about livable cities but about the general happiness of the citizens therein.
Considering T.O. scored 4.15 out of 5 and the top ranking city scored 4.37 out of 5 I'd say it looks like the gov't needed to find some useless study to waste money on.
Interesting to note that Toronto also has the highest concentration of immigrants in Canada.
With this study, one could also conclude that Canadian cities that contain 50% or more immigrant population are miserable cities.
Not saying it's so but it is a frighteningly easy conclusion to reach.

Yeah these studies can be easily manipulated. Thats why always these these "studies" with a little more than just a pinch of salt.

Toronto is fine. A bit dumpy in spots and lacks real 'soul' but it's a relatively new city by world standards and isn't a bad spot. It's nowhere near one of my favourites, I much prefer Vancouver and Halifax, even St Johns has more about it.

Fave city in the world, Hong Kong. Cool place.

Toronto the Terrible. Rat and roach infested. Not to mention bed bugs in most hotels. Far too many minorities who are on the dole and a city government that is lacking. Too many murders and too much traffic. I avoid it!

Welllll, I kinda hate to say this but, Toronto crime-wise reminds me a LOT of the Detroit evening news from my youth. A litany of murders, assaults, hit 'n' runs, robbings, B&Es, drug busts, but decent enough to save the last 5 minutes for some non-violent news.

I admit that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much 8O

The evil and wretched ghost of Harold Ballard put an eternal curse on the entire city, not just on the Maple Leafs. 8)

Never underestimate the power of a custom tailored suit.

Ah, give it a couple more years and we'll be able to blame everything that goes bad in Calgary on the Sutters. :(
