Ah so finally, it should be good to have some favourable journalism in Canada.

We'll just see if there's an appetite for hyper-partisan news in Canada.

    Personally, I doubt it.

You should wait until it airs at the very least before you judge it.

    They've hired Kinsella and Levant.

    Balanced enough for you ?

No, it just proves my point about it being a hyper-partisan network. But I'll wait before passing final judgement.

If it's Hyper Partisan BS like Fox, I hope Canadians refuse to watch it. We don't need "Press" which only destroys the legitimacy of the Press.

But there should nothing wrong having a privately funded network broadcast, unless, some groups feel threatened by opposing opinions being presented to the populace.

Right of center privately ownded media in Canada? oh yeah it will do well.

From the staff their hiring its looks like its going to be entertaining at the very least.

    A-boot fucking time.

News stations are supposed to report the news, not have a pre-determined political agenda. Very sad. I'd say the same thing if someone was starting a left-of-centre news station.

As for Rick Mercer tearing them down, I say the opposite. He and the rest of Canada should give them as little attention as possible.

They should be forced to not call it a news channel. What they propose is nothing more than a gonzo editorial channel, not a news reporting channel. I for one won't watch it simply because it isn't a news channel, it's a special interest channel no different from OUTtv or GreenTV. I hope it goes the way of the dodo bird.
