US President Barack Obama had to get 12 stitches in his lip Friday after being struck in the face by an elbow during a basketball game, the White House said.

    it's only racist if you see it that way. The sutures were made very small to prevent scarring, so that's why there were 12.

    There's nothing like some scarring to build up some cred. Shoulda gone with fewer stitches.

    Makes sense. Hope it works. I've seen 2-3 stitch lips, and was nasty. I couldn't fathom 12. Or figure out how to fit them in. :lol:

    It's terrible how racist this statement seems when it really isn't at all

    It's cosmetic stitchery, if it was you or I we'd be lucky to get 6 stitches.

    Never paid close attention to his lips but I don't think their "sterotypically" large.
