This new generation is terrible, they are drinking vodka like water and fucking like rabbits, in their age for me it was shame to say a strong swearing, but now they know even what it means. If not to keep them in metal gloves we will have a problem : new generation of bastards, so that teacher just failed under the psychological preasure, sometimes it happends.

Shit, when I was in elementary school they used to keep me in mind when they budgeted for tape.

While I don't necessarily think it's ok to be taping kids mouths shut, it's also not as big a deal as this story makes it out to be. No I would not be impressed if my kid told me he had his mouth taped shut, but did he deserve it?
I think it takes a certain individual to teach kids that young, maybe this woman has no patience, and if that's the case she shouldn't be teaching young children.

I think many parents expreess outrage at the teachers rather than at their children's behaviour, because their child's poor behaviour is a reflection of their own failings. Lots of adults bitch about the frustration of having to deal with one or two kids, try dealing with 20 - 30 at a time.

Well, that 20-30 children are there only few hours and during the lessons they are not having free time so most of the kids understand what teacher wants from them. At home children are having more free time and that's more difficult, and it depends from the family. We have a family friends in Lviv, they have 8 children, durind the week I wasn't feeling that there are 8 children, everything is in peace, silence and politeness.

In elementary school the teachers have the kids from 8:30 to 3:30, that's 7 hours.

Normal, the society begins at home not at school.

In Canada teachers are often expected ro be social workers, probation officers, educators and surrogate parents...all the responsibility and absolutely no authority. Even raising your voice to kids is verbotten.
