Gafoor is serving a five-year sentence for forcible confinement, sexual assault and fraud for a 2006 incident where he confined and threatened staff members at a restaurant after refusing to pay for his meal.

heh, that's it? We've got murderers in prison serving 2.5 years, this guy is doing 5 for standard business practices, well, in Asia. But whatever, Vancouver is Asia...

I digress...who the fuck gets a day pass? What is this, Canada's Wonderland?

Maybe it was a language misunderstaning and he took "Day Pass" to mean he could pick the day and you get a free pass.

Damn Corrections Canada for not being more explicit.

What a freakin joke our judicial system really is. :x

So the guy was granted a T.A.P. and turned it into a P.A.P!
He WILL have an additional minimum 6 mos added to his remaining time for being U.A.L.

Well, nowadays any thread in CKA with "muslim" in the heading is guaranteed to generate 5+ pages of posts.

    So it won't be far-fetched.

    Gafoor is described as non-white
Oh, that's helpful. Since we know Vancouver is all white people, he'll stick out like a sore thumb and we'll capture him in no time.

I have no problems with the temporary absence passes - it gives the prisoner a chance to demonstrate that he's responsible. Fuck up, like this guy, and back in they go. I think they should give him a year for it tho - added to his sentence, not just his parole elibility. But it's better to try these passes, day parole, etc, than just keep them in till their time is up and then throw them out on the street with no follow up. I just want the parole periods to be of long duration, and have sufficient staff to follow these guys on the outside for good long time to make sure they're keeping to the straight and narrow.

Oh puh-lease. This goof showed just how responsible he was by sexually assaulting and forcibly confining restaurant staff, all cuz he didn't wanna pay for his meal. Couldn't do the old dine and dash nooooooo, he had to terrorize them. Fuck him and fuck day passes for pieces of shit like him!
