Bombs go off in Kabul too. You still have your chance for shootin' and blowin' up, HM!

It's far past the time, in my opinion. Fighting Uncle Sam's war for him is not what is going to advance Canada's interest and position in the world.

As for our so-called 'allies', they'll bend over backwards to get India a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, but won't lift a finger to secure us a temporary one. Canada gave more than anyone to win both world wars. We should be on that council permanently, even if we are only 34 million.

Frankly, the UN is broken anyway. A seat on the council seems like a status symbol only and holds little real power.

I think Canada was offered a permanent seat when the UN Security Council was formed and relevant, but it declined. The corruption and irrelevance of the current UN is due in most part to all the Third World nations that now infest the ranks of its organizations. What was a respectable organization at it's inception is now pathetic.

Oh yes there will be combat. We can't train people properly over there without some of our troops dying or the enemy.

I'm suprised to see Harper make dumb comments like this.
