The number of clashes at Canada’s borders rose again last year as more officers pulled their guns and swung their truncheons to deal with troublesome travellers. So-called use-of-force incidents are up 170 per cent in just four years — and more border off

Not surprising that there is an upswing in border clashes. After all, with a failing economy and millions homeless, I imagine many people are trying to cross the border. Unfortunately, the ones we don't want in are the ones who are the cause of the problem.
Arming our guards and giving the power to use their weapons was a long overdue decision that has helped to make our borders more secure.

I don't think the borders guards are repelling a flood of homeless people trying to stream across the border. Not yet, anyway. Tho today's elections might accelerate the likelihood.
