And this comming from the most self centered bureaucrat ever to grace the public service, who, during his tenure as Deputy Minister of National Defense ran that department like his own personal fifedom with Admirals and Generals as his lackey's.

This guy is one of the reasons people don't vote anymore. The attitude of nothing ever changes in Ottawa no matter who the politicians are, can be attributed to career public servants like Fowler.

In the west a lot of it is because we know that no matter what we do nothing matters for us, we could separate and nobody in Ottawa would notice.

I'm talking from Quebec... sorry but that speech is very well heard from people of my age (26yo). Most usually don't vote because they, yes, have apathy for politics. They (we) think we are govern by an old generation of politicians wanting to keep every advantages the state have for them because they have built it. However, we, the youth, are going in 'their' world with nothing. We won't have a pension. We won't have access to jobs because the unions protect the seniority. We won't have privileges because we will need to 'fight' for our jobs while older people have everything guaranteed from the state.

We had a right-wing conference last week about how Quebec is in bad shape because of the social democracy. Ezra Levant was one conferencer talking. He said that he was feeling young in that assembly because the average age was about 30 while usually in Alberta it's 50-60.

It rang a bell for him. He saw how social democracy can bring down a state and how the usually non-political youth cares about their future.

Think about that.

A better reflection of society.

I gotta tell you Proc, there are much larger problems in this world and much bigger causes for utter dis-satisfaction then some friggen union member being allowed an hour for lunch.
