I feel somewhat bad for saying this but people like her should never have been given a license in the first place. What's worse, just like she stated, is most people like her actually THINK they're good drivers
...scary. I just wish people like her would realize the danger they are to the rest of us on the road, if you're doing 30 in a 50 zone that's dangerous, wheher you realize it or not.
"I think most of it was the actual going so slow that you could actually cause an accident. I honestly didn't think a person going slow could cause an accident."
I love Canada's Worst Driver and Canada's Worst Handyman. I find them entertaining and educational. However reading stories like this always makes me wonder how the hell these people were able to get their license.

Those are reality shows, ie they may just not be real. They could likely put you on there and make you look like a dumbass too.

Those are reality shows, ie they may just not be real. They could likely put you on there and make you look like a dumbass too. They did that with one guy. He went on about how stupid the police are(he had also been accepted to the police academy). Well, there was an OPP offcer on the panel that sent this driver's info and a copy of the tape to his local PD ooopsy
Every season they actually go through the history of a few contestants, as to how they got their licenses, how many times they failed, the amount of accidents they get into, a few tapes of how they normally drive, and then defend themselves from a lot of the same accusations which normally get sent in, that someone like Angelina (last year's winner) absolutely has to be an actor, and that she cannot possibly be real.
For the record, I remember seeing Emily's car on the show, and, living in Calgary at the time, remember vividly a few months previously almost getting driven off the road by a women driving the exact same type of car when they merged into my lane without checking their mirrors (literally, she drove right beside me and turned into my lane once barely past me), only to wander around a corner at a horribly slow speed, ignoring a no turn sign on a red. If it was her on the show, I had no surprise when it was discovered she never looked in her mirrors, checked her blind spots, that she needed glasses and that she didn't get her license in Canada (which is fairly common among contestants).
Then there was Arun, who showed that the daily private driving sessions they get with instructors actually does help. He began the show driving down the middle of two lane roads, and I've heard from a friend in his city that he swears seeing a guy doing that around the local University before the show began. Likewise, he failed his test twice, once without even getting out of the parking lot, and had his license from another country, which he got because he could turn a car on.
I'm not a perfect driver, and I've made some of the mistakes which have been on this show. I still sometimes take my rights too sharply, for example. I'm a bit like the guy who actually commentates, in that I'm not fan of driving and rarely do it unless I have to, going so far as to taking public transit a lot of the time (which is frequently cheaper anyways). However, there really are drivers, AND passengers, like this on the roads, and there really are people who manage to get through onto the roads. Keeping in mind that a lot of people who are there for things like speeding, road rage, blatant disregard for rules or proper behaviour on the road, etc, can be put aside for the 15-30 minutes you have an instructor with you for the road test. Likewise, a lot of them develop problems with driving after they finished their road test, stopped driving, or have abusive passengers. Others never got the gumption to actually get beyond their Learner's, which only requires you take a written test. Others, like Angelina, simply got through the system even though they failed to get the test, and another Calgarian hasn't renewed theirs since they know that if they did, they would fail to get it due to outstanding tickets.
Usually, each season they get at least one person from each of these groups to have a variety of driving issues. The first year's worse driver was one who's technical skill was horrible because he absolutely refused to drive and only had his Learner's, even though he was married and in his thirties. Others have had emotional breakdowns behind the wheel. Others are simply uber distracted. It's amazing the diversity they get for the show and the problems which are present amongst them.
They don't seem to get more women, it's just that a few of the women they have had are a little more... out there. A lot of the men are generally more calm when it comes to driving behind the wheel, or their problems are a lot less amusing. Whereas you could have an entire season dedicated to Angelinaisms. As you can tell, I was highly amused by Angelina, and was not shocked when she was pronounced Season 5's worst driver.
I'm not going to go and defend the show, I'm sure that they do take some stuff to another level for the purposes of entertainment, but there's a lot of the time when you are watching or where Andrew comes out and says how little they have edited it down to show you the absolute comedic drama. It's hard to see the entire half hour mega challenge, for example, for each driver at the end, so they usually cut it down to the five to eight minute highlights without dedicating a shot to each and every scratch they put onto whatever beauty of a car they brought in for this season for the contestants to demolish -- and the damage done to the cars on this show usually speaks for itself.
In any case, I do find it amusing, and at times, pretty educational. I honestly did not know how to correctly do some of the stuff they have shown on this show, and hope that if I ever do need to remember it I will be able to dredge up a memory of whatever episode it was. I'm not surprised that every year there's a few folks who don't graduate from Driver's Rehab.

Are they just playing into stereotypes or there is something to it, Hmm......
REALLY???
Really as in she didn't know that or Really as in, is that possible ?
Really as in "are you really that stupid"?
