OK, buddy, we get it--you got beat on by some off-duty thug cops. It sucks and I'm glad they got nailed. But come on. Two years off work?--get out and get a job, you bum. It's completely obvious this guy is just milking the system. "My life is over" he says. Suck it up, buttercup. Quit being a drama queen. Move on.

Besides, if I were you, I'd be more mad at whoever did that to your hair.

And, for some strange reason, we have people on this site who trust only cops with guns as if that badge magically makes them honest, trustworthy, upstanding citizens.

    That's why I referred to counseling... ;-)

If he has health issues as a result of the beating those health issues can be made confidential by the court. If the poor man was made impotent by the attack that's not something the public needs to know.

Agreed. But it wasn't like this guy was beat within an inch of his life. He was medically released at the scene, I think. I felt bad for the guy two years ago, but it's all a bit too drama for me now.

I agree with you Zip, I've taken a few beatings myself and don't replay the incident(s) in my head over and over

Talking about that, Yogi, how is your friend Tom (if I recall correctly...) doing?

I am not sure what to feel here. Sad this guy claims one fight has ruined the rest of his life which is ridiculous, or amazed that even after 15 beers the cops were able to stand well enough to fight someone.

I for one am sick and tired of the headline in this story. Our inscutable yellow journalists persist in making it sound like the Police Department was responsible for the beating and not some lowlife twit who happened to be a police officer.

As for this guy's constant whinning and complaining. For fuck sake, would he be on TV every week if the guy who beat him up had been a welder or chippendale dancer for that matter, chances are no.

So, while I feel for this gentleman, he should forget about focusing on the occupation of his assailant, get on with his life and if necessary seek counselling.

Hey Bren, Tom's doing really well, considering. emotional/mental state is excellent. He just says " No time to dwell. Gotta move on"!, And he is. Just had another reconstructive surgery. That went well. Likely 2 more to go at least. He has lost the sight in the one eye ( glass shards), but his other eye is good. In fact, Tom was recertified for riding his Harley. Took a trip up to Alaska, and then Off to Vancouver as well.

it would not really be good for his a damages suit, against these thugs with badges to return to work.

and I hope, they set an example and prosecute these fools and give him an extremely large settlement.

This cop actually trained Recruits in the use of force. And tried to use his position to get off when he was arrested.
