NATUASHISH, N.L. - The RCMP and child welfare officials in Newfoundland are trying to determine how a Grade 2 student in Labrador ended up with a gun at school last week.
When I was in Grade 11 I took a couple of rifles my grandfather had given me to high school. The barrels were re blued, a new bolt was put on one and the stocks were cleaned up. This was all done in the shops at school and there was no huff and puff over it.

That was then... Kids now aren't like we were. In many ways, it's a very sad thing.
when i was in high school, i used to walk through town with my hunting rifle, pick up a friend, then head up onto the mountain side for a few hours.....not once did we contribute to the toronto street violence 5000kms away.

i suspect that the kids have changed less than the media and adults have. we tend to blow things out of proportion

i suspect that the kids have changed less than the media and adults have. we tend to blow things out of proportion That can certainly be the case at times, no question. I suppose that's a large part of the reason for the change in the kids. I'm far convinced that it's a good thing. Some aspects, maybe, but for the most part they aren't being done any favours.
