A retired B.C. prostitute and a group representing sex-trade workers on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside will be able to move forward with their court challenge of Canada's anti-prostitution laws.
"No officer I wasn't going to pay this woman for sex. I was just going to spend 200$ in restaurant food, liquor and shiny trinkets to get her to have sex with me. It's wrong to give women money, they might spend it on frivolous things, like rent, bills and feeding their families. They're all weak in the head you know, so it's really best if a man spends that money for them, you know."
