DELTA, B.C. — A teenager murdered in a daytime attack at a suburban Vancouver park was laid to rest this week in a private family ceremony that was also attended by Hells Angels.
Sad story, poor girl, crazy this happened in broad daylight. I send along my condolences to family and friends.
It states in the article "Friends of Szendrei who had arranged to meet with her heard her scream and then found her badly beaten in the busy park last Saturday afternoon." So they ?heard her scream?? How could they hear her scream and then find her badly beaten to the point of dying of her injuries and not see anybody? When someone is beaten that badly, by the time they are injured to the point of dying they usually aren?t in any position to scream (if they?re even conscious). I would think if they heard her scream it would have to have been near the beginning of the encounter, which would also mean they would have been fairly close at the time. How did they not see anything, or anyone?
Please don?t attack me, I meant no offense by my remarks. I am actually interested in what others have to say. Only way I can imagine this happening the way her friends describe it is if it happened extremely fast. What do others think?
Because the time between the scream and the fatal blow would be a matter of seconds and the attacker didn't stay around. It's apparently a bushy area, so you don't have good sightliness.
Do you react immediately if you hear a girl screaming, investigate thoroughly? Teenage girls screaming is pretty common, usually just a form of getting attention within the group. Sometimes it sounds like bloody murder, but when you look everybody is laughing.

The path she was on goes through a section of woods in the park that is so densely bushy with tall undergrowth that the assailant could have been crouching less than 8 feet away from her body and wouldn't have been seen. The assault took place within a very short time frame and considering her location it would have been easy for the assailant to leap out at her from the undergrowth, bash her head in and then leap back out of sight in a matter of seconds. Her head was brutally bludgeoned and crushed in with what is being assumed to have been something like a heavy baseball bat or a hefty piece of timber like a 2x4 or whatever. Her young friends who found her didn't go looking for the assailant (that would be a dangerously stupid thing to do), some went for help while others tried to render assistance, and obviously after she was found the assailant didn't hang around in the bushes waiting for the police and medics to show up.
