Quite a tragic end to an impressive story. A true rags to riches example but at least he can say he left his mark on the world.

Left a mark at the bottom of the cliff as well.

Oddly enough, his last thoughts were, "Bet this will leave a mark..."

Wonder if on the way down he thought "wow a parachute would be a great option for these things."

It truly is a shame. This guy invented one of the best(and coolest) motorized wheelchairs I've ever seen. He's designed a few but the best one was a 6 wheeled unit. The tires were similar to but smaller than the old swamp buggies allowing it to travel over sand, gravel, deep grass and other terrain with ease. It could raise up so a person can reach things better around the house ( or grocery store etc) instead of using those grabber dealies.
It would go up and down stairs quite comfortably while angling itself so you still sit upwards instead of leaning back or forward. I tried to find a video of it but I can only find video on the other wheelcahirs he invented. All of which are pretty cool.
