CFB/ASU Valcartier, Quebec — The first French-speaking "Balloon Platoon" has been set up and trained to use the new Persistent Surveillance System (PSS) in French.
We're not sure....the idea of using balloons is interesting, why it is specifically done in French, when the operating language of the Canadian military and NATO is English...not a clue.
Language is a very useful combat tool. During WWII a small group of Navajo Marines made a big difference toward bringing Allied Victory. Using their own language. Code Talkers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lh6VDhK2eU

Helium isn't affected by incendiary muntions. The use of hydrogen filled balloons on the field of combat went out in WW I.
