OTTAWA - Ottawa was so embarrassed by the "catch-and-release conundrum" involving Somali pirates last year that it ordered the navy not to take any prisoners unless they had an iron-clad case that would stand up in court, say federal documents.

There is nothing wrong with releasing the pirates, as long as it is in a small boat a few hundred miles out to sea.

The shells aren't that expensive and target practice never hurt anybody, the idea is to appear to be PC Catch and Release keeps the UN happy, I prefer the Russian approach put them in a rubber boat with no propulsion or navigation equipment a couple of hundred miles out to sea hopefully in shark infested waters.

Take the boat out of that equation and I'm okay with it.

Who exactually is this "Ottawa person?" I think I figured it out...it's some pansy ass politican and/or university Professor that has never been in the military or been in a fight, let alone broken a finger nail. But, these are the ones calling the shots for are Navy 1000's of miles away (those poor Somali pirates...lets bring them to Canada to live instead, or we already do)!

    Bart,
We would like to APPEAR to be politically correct, but I the inflatable boats I had in mind were the Wal-Mart $10.00 inflatable boats like you would have your kids use in the pool at home.

There is another option Catch em shoot em release them.

There is some positive use we can make of pirate mother ships, use then as test targets for anti-ship missiles.

water wings, but when you toss them into the sea do it from the aft end of the ship while your screws are turning.

Nothing wrong with catch and release. If you use barbed treble hooks on pirates.

Well you could just put the pirates on trial. In some kind of a World Government Court assembled out of some sort of group composed of nations from all over the world.

Of course the downside would be that we'd have to allow, nay demand NATO to execute prisoners.
