Tamils want Ottawa to stop making unproven accusations

Maybe if they tried to immigrate legally they wouldnt be thought of as terrorists...

I think Tamils should stay in Sri Lanka and be peaceful hard working people...would solve a bunch of problems in that country

They have a point.

Next they will say they must stop making unproven investigations.

They are all supporting a terrorist organization.

I think the simple solution would have been to meet this ship at sea, fire a warning shot overhead and instruct said ship to leave, now we are stuck with 500 more illegals.

Maybe hard working, tax paying citizens of this country are sick of line-jumpers and bogus refugees washing up on our shores and in our airports. If they were so legit, why then do so many show up here without any ID whatsoever. They had it when they left their own country...??!!
On a side note, because they are a minority and our government and many of our Liberal pinko friends will seek their votes, they will probably get their way. This country is in a social freefall and we have the Liberals to thank.

The Canadian Tamil Congress can assist in repatriating the illegal aliens of Tamil origin, by paying for their air fare back to their native country, or they can shut the hell up!

Somebody pointed out that Canadian Tamils can sponsor refugees - ie go thru a legitimate system where the refugee is assessed before being allowed in. These people came from Thailand, they were not in imminent danger. And if they have 50k to give to people smugglers, they could use that money to get settled in Canada instead. But that would mean playing within the system, instead of gaming it.

This quote from a former Canadian High Commissioner who was the mission boss in Sri Lanka says it all.

"Mr. Collacott also pointed out that at the height of the influx of Tamils in the early 2000s, “in one year alone, 8,600 Sri Lankans with refugee claims pending in Canada applied to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Ottawa for travel documents so they could go back to Sri Lanka for visits.”

So scared they went back even while their refugee claims were before the IRB. It just shows how no common sense has been applied to the refugee process.

Collacott is a fellow at the Fraser Institute, but I like what he says.

Sri Lankans aren't the only ones that do this - then if their home govt does arrest them they start yelling that Canada owes them intervention and sue Canada when they get back.

I know several educated and highly employable people in the US that have to jump through ridiculous hoops to move here. So many hoops they just say "fuck it" and keep plugging away in the US, at least content they don't live in a 3rd world country.

I know lots of Brits who have given up on Canada because of the immigration rules too.

It bites when I see cheats by the thousand getting in through the back door.
