Helium is one of the most widely used gases on the planet — from party balloons to MRI machine coolant — but it could soon be a thing of the past.

It's a shame we can't make some use of all the hot air coming out od Congress as a substitute.

Helium doesn't really kill you. It's the lack of oxygen that will do that.

Helium is a simple asphyxiant and thus oxygen. Too many inhales over a short period will kill you.

Yes Captain Obvious I'm aware that inhaling a massive amount of helium will kill you.

If Richardson's predictions are correct and nothing changes, the world could be out of cheap helium as early as 2030.

The world will run out of cheap helium. But let's go for the alarmist headline first, m'kay?
