Military's Arctic exercise to include U.S., Denmark

Defence Minister Peter MacKay is expected to arrive in Resolute Bay, Nunavut, on Wednesday to observe Operation Nanook, Canada's annual military exercise in the North. This year will be the first time that the U.S. and Denmark are also taking part.

    I'd rather see Canada do military exercises in the middle of the winter during the harshest weather the far north can throw at us. That will prove we can defend the north

    We beterr do these exercises before the Russians claim the Arctic is their and the Chinese Chim in for "their 20%".

    To do that, the party running the government (Libs or Cons) would actually have to spend money to do so. Instead, it's far easier to have press conferences every six months announcing the same projects over and over.
