Devastating floods have disrupted the lives of 14 million people across Pakistan, but despite the humanitarian disaster, foreign aid is only trickling in.

Playing both sides of the war on terror seems to have left Pakistan with few friends.

Canada has just announced 30+ million in aid. Personally I don't see the point of giving aid to people that just spit at you for it, and where half or more is skimmed off by the ruling elite for gold toilet seats.

I agree with Smacle why would the world send them aid when they are helping us lose a war?

The Islamic world is richer than God, so why is it that the infidel West is expected to always bail them out?

I think that will buy everyone who lost their home a roll of toilet paper. I feel bad when I scoff at 30 million dollars, but then I remember that it's pocket change.

And just how many of these people have anything to do with the Taliban? The flooding is in the southern part of the country, away from the border with Afghanistan.

It's so nice to see so many people here show their humanity to these people.

Actually a lot of the flooding is in the Swat valley, where the recent Pakistani offensive against the Taliban took place. But in the west are the Kashmir liberation groups, you'd better believe their all Muslim haters of the west. The majority of Pakistanis just want to get on with their lives, but the govt is complicit in supporting and arming both groups. Giving that country money is just a waste of time. As Shep says, let the Muslim oil states give them money instead of just building madrasas to radicalize people.

Giving money to Pakistan is like giving money to any African country. Might as well just wipe one's ass with it for all the good it ends up doing.
