Well he shouldn't be allowed back in Canada. Thats one thing harper and I agree on. Also his terrorist family living in Toronto should be deported. I mean jeeze how does this shit go on? Even if the charges levied against him are true the fact remains he was a child soldier. I don't see any other child soldiers being treaty this even in Africa.

He has already spent 8 years of torture, solitary and brutal detention in one of the "civillised worlds" most notorious prisons, much more than many convicted violent criminals in countries like the US and Canada. Let alone a minor

I'm not sure how to handle a "child warrior" like that. I understand his age, but tossing a grenade is not something minor either. My initial reaction is to treat him like any other combatant and wwe are he is undergoing a trial to see if he is guilty. If he is than I'm not sure what the right thing to do with him.

If the Canadians wanted him back to be tried under their laws I'm sure that could be arranged, but as I understand it Canada has made no such request.

DD, he isn't a 'child soldier' by the UN definition. He wasn't in a uniform of any army, he didn't belong to an army unit or an army. He is an accused terrorist or insurgent depending on your point of view, not a 'soldier' child or otherwise.

Personally I agree that even thought Khadr and all his family are utter pieces of shite, he is a citizen and Canada should be making moves to repatriate him.

He should be treated the same as any other Canadian.

From whatever I've read there isn't any actual proof of him even lobbing any gernades and there are various conflicting accounts of what actually happened.

He didn't break any Canadian laws so why would we try him?

The Yanks say he was fighting them in Afghanistan. He was allegedly engaged in trying to kill uniformed US Army members during a firefight. He was captured as a non-uniformed combatant, breaking all rules of warfare, by the Yanks.
It's up to them to deal with him.

From Canada's point of view, we should be asking the US what they are doing with our citizen and why they have had him in custody for so long without a trial. If he gets convicted, we should look at transferring him back to Canadian prison like we have done with many other Canadians.

If he isn’t convicted, he should be released and allowed to come back to Canada.

If he was innocent then of course set him free, If he was throwing grenades at Uniformed American one of the a medic though that would be hard to ignore.

He is being tried lets see what happens.

Saying they should be stripped of citizenship is a moot point. It isn't going to happen.

We should go out of our way to deal with these wankers in a fair and equitable way, as Canadian citizens.
