Taliban executed 10 medical missionaries one-by-one

Before the 'I hate religion and they deserved to die' retards start. Many of these medical 'missionaries' are there working as doctors only because their faith compels them to help those in need, not to go and convert the masses.

There are charitable organizations in most religions that travel around the world to troubled areas of the world, providing essential services that otherwise wouldn't be received. Most NGOs, that do a superior job to the UN, are examples of this. For four years, I spent a good part of each year in Somalia, working for a couple of NGOs(and working closely with the Useless Nits). I wasn't there to convert, I was there to help build schools and educate people.

A well known non Christian charitable organization, that supplies, doctors, teachers and skilled persons to those in need is Tzu Chi, a Buddhist charity that has missions even in Canada and the US.

What dumb SOB's These mofo's need to be fed to the dogs. Heart goes out to the families of these brave people who went into a war zone to do some good.

I am NOT condoning anything the taliban did but, this should be a wake up call to all missionaries and charitable organizations working in a war zone. The white flag, red cross/crescent, and to a lesser extent, the blue helmet will NOT protect you anymore. Just because you are not military does not mean you are not a target.

I like listening to the dumbasses who figure that the radicals will only target Americans because canada is so accepting and tolerant You're not local, You're wearing a uniform and yo speak English. All of these will get you shot.

A group of ten or more (number varies) doctors from our area of Indiana spend four weeks (at different times) in different countries each year.
In the case of Haiti and other disasters they put in extra time.
They are of several religions. Their faith has nothing to do with their mission.
The mission is to give care as it is required. They as my Doc tells are far to busy treating the sick and injured to do anything else.
This was an act by mindless murders in the name of their god.
It might be nearer the truth to say godless murders, using the name of god as an excuse.
They deny local peoples of care to commit senseless acts of violence.

BUZZ! Wrong, this was a systematic murder of 10 people to show that the Taliban is in control, not senseless murder. They did not do this specifically for Mohammad or Islam. They did it to prove a point, a point that the victims should have known full well before they stepped on the plane.

Doctors without borders is a wonderful organization, but unless they have professional armed (and not local) bodyguards they should stay out of warzones.

The Elephant in the room is the question of WHY do these people fear women, education and other beliefs?
Here we accept knowledge to learn and choose who and what we believe in.
Our religions have to be strong enough to be challenged everyday.
What is it about islam tha makes it affraid to be challenged?
Ignorance? Cowardice? What? They are affraid to ask themselves that question.
Am a strong Christian. But, there are things in our system that I question.

I agree Shep, but some of these well intentioned people are a little naive. They are all over the nasty places in the world but doing good deeds won't stop you from getting killed.
During my time in very crappy parts of Africa I met some very driven and decent people doing similar work in very dodgy places.

Is anybody shocked that the Tallywackers did this? No I didn't think so.

I wouldnt say islam is afraid to be challenged, no more than christians nor jews. Its the population that is afraid, not the religion. There are christians in the bible belt that are just as closed minded as the taliban in Afghanistan.
